Creating editorial illustrations for my professional portfolio has been a fascinating journey, and recently, Flux AI has become a game-changer in my process. The ability to generate imaginative, high-quality visuals in seconds has taken my storytelling to new heights. It’s like having a clone of myself, who works even faster, and who never runs out of fresh ideas—until, of course, I run out of credits.
That’s the bittersweet reality of using Flux AI. Every render feels like magic, but with limited credits. The excitement can quickly turn into a scramble to prioritize, or hold back on experimentation. I’ve learned to make the most of every credit by sketching concepts beforehand and being ultra-specific in my prompts to minimize waste. Still, running out of credits feels like hitting a creative roadblock just when the momentum builds.
Despite this challenge, the excitement of seeing concepts come to life keeps me hooked! Flux AI pushes the boundaries of what’s possible, helping me explore artistic ideas that might have taken hours (or days!) to refine manually. Whether it’s imagining a concept, or a playful depiction of a complex system, these illustrations add a little polish and personality to my portfolio.
Now that I have a foundation for my portfolio, polish and shine are up next. And I’m working on more case studies in the background. I’m experimenting with AI video. AI-motion graphics and animation are in my sights next.
Pfizer/Zoetis
Portfolio Case Study: Zoetis
A Fortune 500 company that develops, manufactures, and sells animal health products and technologies wanted to streamline compliant sample collection and testing for veterinarians, laboratories, and farmers.

World Bank Group
Portfolio Case Study: World Bank Group
An international development organization wanted to reimagine their Intranet, used by members around the world across 187 countries, and include new areas for News and Documents.
For some reason, AI fought me to use red and orange to represent financial networks. Red is not a great color when it comes to money-related topics. Sadly, I ran out of credits. I thought about changing the hues of the image… but uh, I like Text to Image (TTI) and wanted to come back to try again. I did. It’s all about creating a good prompt.

Sotheby’s International Realty
Portfolio Case Study: Sotheby’s International Realty
A luxury real estate brokerage company wanted a unified platform that fostered communication and collaboration across brokers within the wider Realogy family of companies.

AvalonBay Communities
Portfolio Case Study: AvalonBay Communities
A national luxury apartment rental enterprise offering multiple locations around the U.S. wanted to reimagine a best-of-class renewals platform.

American Tire Distributors
Portfolio Case Study: American Tire Distributors
A leading U.S. distributor of tires, wheels, and tire supplies wanted to update their Point-of-Sale platform used by vendors with their customers.

Edgepark
Portfolio Case Study: Edgepark
Below are some images exploring AI to generate a complex concept about a regulated eCommerce of medical supplies for customers with chronic conditions.

Prudential
This case study is not yet published. Below are some images exploring AI to generate images of the Rock of Gibraltar, the iconic logo of Prudential.

American Express
This case study is not yet published. Below are some images exploring AI to generate images of the NYC water skyline. Perhaps maybe a little geographically incorrect, but that’s AI for you. Anything is possible.

Case Studies
I wanted to make an interesting image of a spark, and explored a few different backgrounds. I was exploring how to change the final image into a duotone, and what happens with color overlays to the image. Ultimately, I wanted an image to use behind text.

I made these images of a light bulb exploring an idea that didn’t work out. It was too cheesy. I’m saving them to repurpose, or to come back and reimagine later.
